Performing Arts School Christmas Raffle It is with great pleasure that I inform you that Susie Power age 6, who plays 'Eleanor Daly' on RTE's Fair City was awarded the "Young Achiever of the Year" 2009 award at the "Maternity and Infant Awards" which was held on Thursday 12th November at a very prestigious award ceremony in the Shelbourne Hotel, Dublin. Susie received the "Young Achiever of the Year" Crystal trophy award for her impressive acting for such a young age on Fair City, for her achievements at the recent World Championships Of Performing Arts (where she was awarded GOLD). The award ceremony will be aired on the City Channel TV Station over the next fortnight. You can see Susie's impressive acting skills at the moment on FAIR CITY as her onscreen father Brendan Daly is in a dramatic court case for killing his brother in law Floyd Phelan. For more information on the awards ceremony, please check out their website: http://www.maternityandinfant.ie/awards/ Maureen is holding a Christmas Raffle to raise funds for her students that have been chosen to represent Ireland in the World Championships of Performing Arts which will be held in Los Angeles, California in July of next year. Over 50 countries are taking part in this Olympics style competition which helps bring together young people of different nations and cultures. A figure of approximately €2,500 each is needed for travel expenses and the organisers are encouraging competitors to seek sponsorship from businesses, clubs, churches and other societies. If you would like to help them to take part in this prestigious event, sponsorship forms for each of them are now available and raffle tickets are on sale at five for €5. A seasonal selection of prizes is offered including a Christmas cuddly toy. The raffle will be drawn on the Sunday before Christmas. Please contact John Ward for tickets and information.
