How is Tolerance Possible Here in the 21st Century?

The Justice and Peace Desk at Dublin’s Unitarian Church, St. Stephen’s Green, Dublin 2, is pleased to announce a series of four lunchtime discussions, under the general heading, Talking on Tolerance in Ireland, to be held in the Church on the first Tuesday of each month at 1.10pm, beginning on Tuesday 7th March, until Tuesday 6th June. Admittance is free and all are welcome.
The first discussion on Tuesday 7th March will be led by the Rev. Bill Darlison, M.A. Minister of the Dublin Unitarian Church and by a representative of the Islamic Cultural Centre of Ireland.
Other speakers confirmed for the talks series are:
Professor Enda McDonagh,
Emeritus Professor of Moral Theology, NUI Maynooth.

Rev. Gary Hastings,
Church of Ireland Rector, Westport, and traditional musician, (ex De-Dannan).

Prof. Monica McWilliams, Human Rights Commissioner Northern Ireland,
Co-founder of Northern Ireland Women’s Coalition Party.

Unitarians are united by a common search for meaning and truth, guided by the three central Unitarian principles of freedom, reason and tolerance. The ethos of the church is a broad and liberal one, its doors are open to everyone, as is summed up in the church’s motto: “Our bond of union is religious sympathy, not the declaration of a creed bound faith. In the love of truth and in the spirit of Jesus we unite for worship, learning and the service of human kind.”
