Restoration Project
Many thanks to the members of the congregation who have responded generously to our appeal for standing orders to the fund. We are happy to report that we now have a guaranteed income of €870 per month, which has allowed us to proceed with the current phase of the restoration work on the roof. Of course, the fundraising effort has to continue, and we hope to be acting on several of the suggestions from the congregation for fundraising events in the coming year.
The next event is a public street collection on Saturday September 17th. We have received permission from the Garda Siochána to collect outside the church door and at the top of Grafton St., and we plan to have an open day in the church as well, so that the public can come and see the inside of the building. We hope to have some organ music in the course of the day, and the Communication Workers Union Band, who played so well on the occasion of Chris Hudson’s licensing have generously agreed to perform on that Saturday afternoon. We will need all hands on deck to make this collection a success. A rota for collectors will be left on the church notice board, and we would ask you to fill in your name at a time that suits you to do some shaking of buckets! Please leave us your phone number and/or email address as well.
